Learn the RSA way you'll pass fast and pay less doing it.
Most Birr learners start in a manual, and passing in one covers you for manual and automatic cars. The first lessons stay on quieter streets like Pass Bridge. Once the clutch stops being the main event, we move out to Carrig Bridge.

Automatic takes the clutch out of it, which helps on Carrig Bridge at busy times. A test passed in an automatic gives a Code 78 licence, limited to automatic cars. Same instructor, same free pick-up in Birr.
Book automatic lessons ↗Once you're matched, your lessons sit on our booking platform. You see what's next, move a lesson when you need to, and get a reminder before each one.
Before you sit the driving test you need all twelve EDT lessons, each one stamped in your logbook. Your Birr instructor works through them in order, starting on Pass Bridge and building up to Carrig Bridge.
By the last few lessons you're driving the roads around the Birr test centre, so the approach is familiar long before the day itself.
Once the EDT is done, it's on to test preparation. The nearest centre to Birr is Birr, 11 km and about 12 minutes by road. Pretest lessons run on the roads around it, and you sit the test in the car you practised in. If Tullamore has an earlier date, we cover those routes too.
Because not all Birr driving schools are made equal. Our County Offaly instructors cover Birr and the towns around it, including Kilcormac, Crinkill and Tullamore. Pick-up is free from home, work or college, or meet us near Birr Castle Demesne.
