Manual driving lessons Athboy
Manual tuition gives you guided practice with clutch control and gear selection, alongside the observation needed to use them safely. It works for first lessons and for learners building on earlier practice. Tell your instructor which parts already feel comfortable so the hour has a clear focus.

Automatic driving lessons Athboy
You can learn in an automatic car if that fits your plans. Without manual gear changes, the lesson can focus on steering, speed, positioning and observation. If you're moving from manual tuition, bring your EDT record so the instructor can check what you've completed.

An RSA guide to the EDT
Our EDT lessons cover the standard twelve-session programme, with each session recorded by your instructor. The course gives your learning a structure. It also leaves room for additional practice where a skill needs more time.
Bring your logbook to each session and use the feedback when planning supervised practice. A short, specific aim is useful: smoother starts, earlier checks or better positioning at turns.
Get ready to pass your Athboy driving test
Pre-test tuition helps you understand what your driving would be marked on and which habits need work. If your appointment is in Navan, share the exact centre and date. Bring any previous result sheet so the instructor can focus on the feedback you've already received.

Choose RSA School of Motoring for your driving lessons in Athboy
Because not all Athboy driving schools are made equal. Athboy's Main Street and Fair Green give the town two clear reference points. The council's heritage trail also follows the old street towards the river. When arranging a lesson, use your street or Eircode to distinguish the centre from the surrounding addresses.

The EDT: a guide
A full EDT package is useful when you're beginning the standard course. A shorter block or single lesson may fit someone continuing after a break. We can talk through the difference using your logbook and current experience, rather than choosing by package size alone.

How much do driving lessons in Athboy cost?
Our current advertised price is €53.27 for a one-hour manual lesson and €61.41 for a one-hour automatic lesson. The twelve-lesson EDT package is €587.95 in manual or €659.24 in automatic, with twelve one-hour sessions. Lessons include an ADI-registered instructor, a dual-controlled car and agreed local pickup. We check instructor availability and agree the pickup point before booking in Athboy. See current lesson prices and packages.
Can I continue lessons in Athboy after a break?
Yes. Tell us how long it has been, what you practised and whether you've completed any EDT. Bring your permit and logbook so the instructor can plan from your current experience.
Should I book all twelve EDT lessons if I've completed some?
Check your logbook and MyEDT record first. Tell us which sessions remain before choosing a package. A six-lesson block is not automatically a reduced EDT course; reduced EDT needs RSA eligibility and approval.
What information helps when booking pre-test tuition from Athboy?
Send your test centre, date, time and transmission. Include your earlier test feedback if you have it, and say whether you need a test car. We can then check the lesson and car arrangements together.
